There are no menus in the viewfinder area. What's the problem you are facing?

The long answer is: This is a bit problematic. Assume the following case:
1) switch GPS and geotags on when is active
2) network connection dialog pops up
3) camera+ becomes non active and disables gps and geotags
4) network connection dialog disappears
5) camera becomes active again and switches on gps and geotags
6) repeat step 2.

I hope I managed to get a fix for that but let's see if it really fixes it.
Hmm, OK, I hadn't thought of that. It's a scenario I'd not see because I'm always connected and the networks I use are all set to auto-connect. The stock Harmattan camera manages it somehow (lets go of GPS), so there's hope. :-)

My bad. I was confused about how and when the camera went into standby. Cameraplus functions the same way as the Harmattan camera in this regard, so all good... pretend I didn't ask for #3. :-)

MSameer!

The problem of the icons/ui not showing up properly and needing a reboot to fix has got me thinking... "this is Linux why should I have to reboot just to see a dang icon" I wonder if this would resolve that issue...
Code:
initctl restart xsession/mthemedaemon
I'm a little busy to test it right now, but will a bit later and let you know.

Yes, that works! Add that to your postinst script and say goodbye to that particular FAQ.

Hold on, I had problems afterwards but I'm not sure if they were related. Best if you test this yourself.

EDIT: Pretty sure the probs I saw weren't related, but still test it anyway.

themedaemon is a can of worms and I remember having issues when I killed it.

I'd say the options are:
- force reboot -> evil and I don't know how to do it
- regenerate theme cache -> I got a crash when I tried to run the binary that does that
- show an info banner -> I don't know how to do that really.

I will continue looking but I have more important issues to solve really

Oh, I was just throwing it out there, mate. Wasn't expecting you to do anything with it unless you had nothing else to do. It's not exactly a critical issue. But thanks for considering it, appreciate that.

Well my theme does indeed seem to interfere with this app. The blank menus are still there after a reboot.
