2 & 3. The consensus for this to work is a). Does not need an external power device to be operational, and it it does, make sure it draws the power from an AC outlet instead of the N800 b). It has to be formatted to FAT.
4. Check this site for IR remote for the N800 and this.

1.usb video cards
I see that people have asked about video out on tv displays and all I've seen was people asking back why would they want it. Well what about the usb external video cards to monitor? Anyone think they'd work? I have some examples here:

i think there should be a development of a general USB-in device for the N800 - so it can perform functions such as this (video out)

The reason why I've read so much is that I'd like to buy one but needed to know the ups,downs,pros-n-cons.
Today I've decided to join for a couple of questions for me to ask as I haven't stumbled upon (I have searched) these questions:
0.I've seen posts about wireing(re-wireing) usb's to accept the standard usb (adaptors) Which when I get the n800 I will be purchasing one from ,I forgot the name, but somone on this site.
1.usb video cards
I see that people have asked about video out on tv displays and all I've seen was people asking back why would they want it. Well what about the usb external video cards to monitor? Anyone think they'd work? I have some examples here:

2.all-in-one card readers
I've seen some all in one card readers via usb http://www.usbgadgets.org/entry/mobi...r-by-kingston/
This would be great also if it worked as I have many different cards.Just was wondering if this worked would the n800 read small compact flash mem cards? I have tons of these for pictures and text.
3.storage
Is there an "absolute" list of what dives work and what doesn't on the n800?
How a bout these?V

I at home have a 160gb iOmega usb hdd,500gb seagate free agent usb drive, and a mad dog dvd rw+-r recorder<I use this as the dvd drive and as a portable hard drive host.Do any of these have issues with the n800? And would it be possible to read dvd's or regular cd's from a usb dvd/cd drive?
4.ir device
I've also read about the remote control thing on here but was a bit confused??
But my question is can you use this nifty device
http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0577
to control ir controlled devices such as your tv,dvd,cd,stereo and whatever has ir?
Thanks for your time.
I'm so glad I have found a fountain of knowlage for the n800. Even though I see ALOT of flmin and bad critisizm twards newbies and misdirected people that are not as kowlagable as the pro's,I'm glad I stopped by.
