I saw that before, but no price was listed at the time.
Its not really intriguing for me.... I currently have a 42inch TV and that feels small.

If I could get one in 47in/50in/55in or bigger variants that would be good.

Kogan's TV is exceptionally good. Instead of "Smart TV" it has "Android" (with PlayStore) built-in so this is far more useful and fun. Its got USB 3.0 which seems rare at times and some nifty features. In fact it not only over-featured the Vizio it also undercut it by $50-$100.

One downside is the omission of 3D, which I'm not too bummed about. Besides if they were going to do 3D I'd prefer the superior passive type (which is rarer) and if possible with an advancement (current polarizing layer is done on vertical plane, have it on a checkered layer):

So much so that, Polaroid has decided to lower its 4K TV price in accordance. Chances are Polaroid's TV's screen would be of lower quality (reputation), it already lacks a lot of features, and it would barely undercut the competition.

Seems like Kogan might be my next TV, perfect that its actually in my country. I'm ready to retire ye olde TCL which has surprising held strong and never caused problems.

My TV is slightly bigger than yours, 120"

I have a rear projector, DLP, Acer, bought 5 yrs back, with 1920 X 1280 resolution, and a motorised screen, and my old and about to retire audio system with 7 speakers, occupied my whole basement. Excluded the price of the audio system, which is pre-existed, the whole setup was under $600, and sure, you bet, I setup every single bit of the system, including threading wire between heating ducts. And I am proud of myself, I am kind of a software guy, not that much of a hardware guy, less even carpentry

Latest addition, bought an Android TV stick with HD output, video cut off at 720p, and sound only goes to stereo, I think the limitation is from the Android OS rather than hardware.

Yup, almost the same in my case (107"). Sadly, projectors are not for everyone, so "smart" TV's seem to get a lot more traction/publicity/attention.

I personally don't think I'll ever own a TV again...

I like projectors... I just don't like how you need a dark room for it to be effective, the limitations to brightness, colour, resolution etc, the energy drain, or the slow refresh rates/"ghosting" (for fast-paced videos like sports/tennis or video games).

And the fact that for good quality ones (to compete properly with TVs) its gets very pricey.

And that when all your standards are met, the projector usually lights up your room by the excess light bouncing off the walls... much more than a TV's glow lighting up a room.

Dunno, it just seems like a good idea... but more compromises made on quality.
They should make a curved blank screen/blinds and a projector that can light it up circular around a user/users.

Yup - I spent a bit more than bunanson and was too happy when I got it (>3 years ago). I'd need to spend roughly the same again to get an up to date version, and a bit more for it to be "cinema quality".

I just bought the Kogan 4K TV.
Waiting for arrival, here in a month.

AU$999 + AU$209 (5yr warranty) + AU$36 (shipping) + $9 (insurance)
Closest competitor priced at $3,599.

Good things:
120Hz
USB 3.0 / MHL / Wifi
Recording 1TB support
Android OS (instead of "smart tv")

Bad things:
Edge-lit LED (not from panel)
Active 3D (passive is superior)
