I am sitting here panting for my new N800 and while UPS almost always makes their first run through my neighborhood about 10:30am...NOTHING...heck even the normal amount of street traffic is dead.

It's a stinking conspiracy. I might need to get my tin foil hat to help stop the spy satellites from watching me.

I do know the thing is here and should be out for delivery even though the UPS site only shows an arrival scan at our distributation center. So, it will show up today...with my luck it will be the LAST STOP of the day for the driver...

D'OH!! I wanna fiddle with my new toy!! I even made a check list of how to get everything working. Found all the info around here...

Hey, at least be thankful that they normally deliver so early! They don't usually deliver here until between 7:00pm and 9:00pm.

I'm waiting too. Sitting, and waiting. Any minute now. Crap, hope it comes tonight even.

FedEx is worse.

I swear the last 3 places I lived at, the FedEx tracking site would show my package was out for delivery at 6AM, but wouldn't actually be at my house until after 5PM sometimes 7PM. Does the guy take 10+ hours to empty out his truck of packages?

And at one place (St. Petersburg, Florida), despite me putting a sign on my door asking them to knock as I was home, being at home all day waiting, looking out the window every ~5 minutes, they often said that the package wasn't deliverable and they would attempt redelivery the next day! I worked a graveyard shift and I would stay up all day watching the window and the FedEx tracking site just to find out it would be delivered the next day ... after 5PM of course.

I thought they were so fast the snow doesn't melt when they do a Miami delivery.

Yeah, FedEx shipping here. I also live in Florida. Say they left for delivery this morning at 7:00 this morning. I wish they had REAL TIME tracking.

I had that happen to me waiting for my G5. Took the day off to take delivery, waited all day and finally the FedEx truck pulled up at 7:05PM, guy stopped for about 30 seconds and drove away. Checked the website and it was marked as "Owner not home". What a joke! Customer support didn't care a lick.

I waited all day for my N800 to be delivered on January 7th. Now I have another SDHC (16GB!) scheduled to be delivered on Thursday (my "new" 8GB died after 1 month, 2 days).

As I get off work at 4PM, at least I know that the card won't be sitting in front of my door (or stolen) when I get home.

I bet they mainly do all their business deliveries during the morning\afternoon and their residential deliveries later when more people will be home waiting.

It's semi-random here from all private carriers but they usually deliver after 5 pm. Whatever you do, don't watch the tracking-- you will go nuts watching the package go places that make no sense. I like watching my package come to one bulk DC near my house, then go 30+ miles east to a Dallas DC, then back again. Stupid UPS logistics.

When I was a kid the US mail always arrived at our house before noon-- usually by 10:30 am. Now I'm lucky to get it before 4 PM. But hey: they keep that one mail truck busy!
