I have a Wharfedale tv. After lots of messing, I have found that the Universum TV Keyset 1 works-ish. Power button works, Mute works, Volume down works but the Volume up key brings up the menu. However, the Info button under Utility DOES turn the volume up. If you're planning any further work on this program I would be very grateful if you could add a simple Wharfedale keyset with just Power, Mute, V-up (Info) and V-down.
Thanks

Interesting! The Universum TV Keyset 1 is a fairly standard RC5 protocol; most RC5-based remotes work in pretty much the same way. The volume up value is "16" in this keyset, and in fact is "16" in most RC5 TV keysets. I did find one Wharfedale TV entry in the hifi-remotes website, but it also uses "16" for volume up. (The Universum Info button is set to the value "18".)

Let me try to put together an update with both the (incorrect) hifi-remotes keyset and the minimalist (but correct) 4-key keyset.

Again, many apologies for not putting out new pasta udpates in so long! I'll see if I can't get myself back into shape for serious coding again this spring...

(EDIT: I've found some odd RC5 keysets with different values for volume up/down, but nothing yet that matches this TV.)

I should've mentioned, this isn't a "because we can" request. The tv was bought from a 2nd hand shop for £15 with no remote. I've spent the last year having to get off the couch (oh the trauma).

Ok, Pierogi 1.1.26 is now making its way up to Extras-Devel. Rather than continue pushing the enormous documentation changes I've been slowly puttering away on, this is instead just a tiny update with a few new keysets. The main new keyset is for the Motorola VIP1853/VIP1903, which involved setting up an entire new protocol; as such, I expect it will have some bugs to work out! (And yeah, I should have pushed this up months ago...) This keyset is filed under "Motorola STB Keyset 2".

Also, added in two new Wharfedale TV keysets; keyset #1 is one I found on the net, but is not the one king Ralphred is looking for. Keyset #2 has the four working keys specified (plus the menu key, for what it's worth). If you can find some other working keys for the TV (either from that Universum keyset or from others), I'll be happy to add them in.

Also, some of the Toshiba keysets have been cleaned up a bit.

I will to try to get back to a more regular schedule for these updates.

Ah, well, I haven't got quite as much support for projectors in Pierogi as I do for other devices. (At least not yet... ) Can you tell me the model name/number for the projector(s) you are trying to control? I'll see if I can find some better keysets from my usual sources...

What an epic way to get your requests satisfied. My volume up now works on the minimalist Wharfedale TV set 2. BUT the volume down now brings up the menu when it worked on the Univesum tv keyset 1. Updated rebooted, rebooted etc. I'm sure you have better things to do so hats off to you for doing that. Don't let it break you brain. Many thanks.

Don't break your head over it. Tried again and V-down brings up the menu and V-up raises the volume. I'll settle for that. Up or mute is good by me. Unfortunately, I suspect you're thinking the same thought...BASTARD

Man, I have certainly gotten rusty -- I did manage to mix up the volume and menu controls when I did the quick little cut & paste to create keyset #2. Let me take a little more care and get the numbers right this time...

Tried the motorola STB Keyset 2 on my VIP1853, but does not show any sign of life. Not even the a blink of the red led that lights up when receiving commands. From what I tried with other devices is that sometimes these appliances blink with the receive led but don't do an actual useful command. With this VIP1853, it does not do anything, no reaction.

Thanks for trying to implement my request. And thanks for the canon remote control, it works awesome
