In the post capture gallery...
1. Is there any way to get portrait support? I know that with the gestures in your app it could get confusing, I just hate not being able to see a portrait photo full screen.
2. Is it possible to be able to zoom without losing quality? Zooming in on the same picture in your post capture gallery and then in the stock gallery, you see two very different results.

After taking a photo I always check for quality in post capture to see if I need to try again to get the shot. With these two "limitations" i find myself having to leave your app to check in the stock gallery.

With the recent updates, i have been using Camera + exclusively, and these are the only things I have noticed that don't blow away the stock camera application!
1) You don't need portrait support to view the image fullscreen. We just need to rotate the image itself

I am also thinking about fake portrait mode where the icons are rotated only but the rest of the gestures stay the same. I am not yet sure about it.

2) I remember the zoom issue. It's in the TODO so I will get to it when I get to it

It's a pity gitorious does not have an issue tracker :/

Yeah, I'm fine with it automatically turning portrait photos on their side, or adding a button to make it possible.

Not necessary, but it does look slick when the native camera icons do that.

Glad to hear it. It is quiet cumbersome to take the photo, swipe to post capture, click on gallery icon, and then select the photo so I am able to zoom and see if the shot turned out.

i miss ONE WEEK, and there are FOUR updates and SIX new features/fixes i actually like.

thanks a ton. best things:
1) power; there was a bug or something in 0.0.14 that caused huge power drain {300mA} with cam+ open and the phone locked. this is fixed in 0.0.18.
2) camera switching icon. SO NICE
3) sounds, look&feel improvements

now, for the whining.
1) biggest regression is that you cant swipe to the menu/postcapture if you start the swipe from inside the focus rectangle. not a huge deal, but annoying.
2) its still really really easy to focus instead of capture, by tapping between the capture button and the side of the screen. i would personally be happier if you actually changed the focus to ONLY allow drag-to-focus, instead of only allowing tap-to-focus.

I'd rather try to increase the size of the tap-event-field by like 5 px around the button's visible edges

nope im wrong, power bug is still present. you just have to take a picture and then lock the phone quickly {within ~2s?|}

steps to reproduce:
1) measure power {196mA}
2) lock phone and wait 10s
3) measure power {14mA}
4) open cameraplus
2) lock phone and wait 10s
6) measure power {14mA}
7) take a picture and immediately lock phone
8) measure power {306mA}
9) wait 30s
10) measure power {294mA}
11) wait 1200s
12) measure power {309mA}
13) use phone to cook a nice hot meal

I was wondering where you could have possibly disappeared

power issue: You never reported it so I never knew about it :/ Now that you have reported it, It's fixed in git already

flicking to post capture/settings if you start from within the reticle is fixable. Not an issue at all

focusing instead of capturing in another reply.

Then you end up capturing by mistake instead of switching modes.

I can increase the button size a bit but I don't like invisible regions because the interaction becomes a bit confusing.

i agree about invisible area. if you increased the size a bit and slid it over all the way to the edge, thatd fix my fat-fingers-problem 85% of the time.

well,
I toyed around with the stock app today and it seems to work there...
even if I am half off the button it triggers the right action 90% of the time.

obviously there will some trial and error work to get the best settings but 5-10px seems a good start to me
just give it a try! you can always change it back...
