@peterleinchen
I am talking about end users (like me) who have no or little knowledge in how to use commands in terminal. You have knowledge -if you remember- that you helped me in installing Modrana. My question is: Why we didn't find a reply to our questions?

What repositories do you enabled on your N9?

Regarding QDL, YouTube plugin may use older API, which has been disabled by Google some time ago.
Work on implementing newer one is probably in progress.
Try to use cuteTube2 instead.

@wisgal you can complain to Nokia, but not the developers. The problem is more about the development not the developers. A developer needs motivation to fully support a program, and make it as polished as possible. And a phone with no future like N9 doesn't attract professional development; and this is not developers' fault. The amount of support (both mental & monetary) you receive differs very much between a popular platform like Android and a dying one like N9.

And OS itself is irrelevant here. Even if you put the current iOS or Android on a single phone and say that there'll be no other phones with this OS; the results will be similar. For attracting most developers/development, the number of users is the key, not the OS.

Sorry, every N9 buyer should have known from the start that its world will be totally different from Android/iOS, as it was 'dead' from the beginning. If you bought an N9 without knowing this, you should read more about something you're going to buy.

We should not blame the phone, its software and especially the developers.
Only the decisions taken by people who have (had?) control over the further fate of the system were (at least in my opinion) bad.
I blame the people that advertised this as an "open" phone and defended that BS here. It's not open; proof is in the difficulties present now.

Next time any so-called "the N9 is more open than other phones" heroes, I'll probably punch the **** out of them in the mouth for a lie like that.

Long live the N9... but I fear it's already dead (enough)

Isn't that the "Perfect Solution Fallacy" coupled with the "I'll beat you up if you disagree dictum"?

Ok guys, it's not that bad. I bought my N9 back in 2011 and I'm still using it. Below is a short list of working apps that rely on internet connection:

- Facebook
everything works except chat (the one integrated in the phone messaging system, the one in the app itself works fine)
- Rocket

- Accounts:
-- CalDAV integration with external callendars, in my case OwnCloud synchronizes flawlessly,
-- Flickr
-- Gadu-Gadu chat client
-- Nokia account (mine is old, I guess there is no way to create a new one)
-- Last.fm - still connects and synchronizes music stats with the last.fm account
-- Picasa
-- Skype, incl. chat
-- YouTube (although I prefer cuteTube2)

- Maps, Navigation and Nokia City Lens still working, only the latter requires internet connection, but still shows accurate data
- Tiny Tiny RSS
- Feeds and Web Feeds
- AP Mobile ans Al Jazeera
- Warehouse
- Butaca
- Allegro, Ceneo (Polish eBay equivalent and price comparison site)
- MeeCast
- CloudGPS - just update providers.ini from here: http://grec.co.nr/priv/cloudgps.zip
- MusiKloud - most of it works fine, except you can't listen to the tracks until you actually download them (some API changes, waiting for the update)

Have you tried Flickr lately, prosper? They switched from http to https last summer, and the Flickr sharing plugin stopped working at that time. Has it been updated -- and I missed it -- or are you using a different 3rd party program like FlickrUp?

Same goes for skype... Chat no longer works, and voice, wasn't ever really good to start with.
(Chat. Messages wont deliver, or takes forever, and once they do deliver, the responses might show up anywhen... When ever that is...)
B!

Thanks.

P.S.: how did you find that? It is updated just today.
