That Jolla may sell the blighters at a higher margin than the Chinese factory has not occurred to you?

anything smaller and i might as well have a 5" 16:9 device for one hand use, anything bigger and i'll use my 13.3" 16:9 Samsung Series 9 laptop with a full desktop UI.
4:3 is exactly why I didn't care about it at all. It feels wrong in portrait. It feels wrong in landscape.
TPA is so much better on 16:9, Sky Force is so much better in 16:9, everything that is made in portrait as primary view is so much better on 16:9. Browsing, email, text, video........ so much better in landscape on 16:9.

Yeah, Santa is a cool dude. He knows the rule: Always Under Promise and Always overDeliver, and if you can't...just deliver!

"Last year, I asked Santa for the sexiest person ever for christmas...I woke up in a box."

Stay sexy and tablet will be delivered!

The profit margin for Jolla, who has already spent millions developing the hardware and software, is obviously going to be lower at any price point than for the factory, who did not...

I get this a lot. Friends of mine who think if any electronic device costs more than the sum of its components then it's somehow a rip off. Very frustrating, especially when those people are software devs themselves...

Sure, but you keep suggesting that the factory went to the bother of copying the tablets, thus stealing Jolla's development work. Using an Occam's razor, I find that rather unlikely. It is much more likely that all 1079 units were produced for but never paid by Jolla. In that scenario, it is not the factory reaping the fruit of Jolla's labour but the other way around. Having someone do something for you and not paying them is stealing.

It really seems as if the discussion around the tablets has now shifted to the unanswered fate of those being sold in China - which is actually immediately resolved via a clear, concise answer from Jolla directly. "Looking into it" will invariably not net an answer that will satisfy these curiosities/concerns brought up in this thread.

I don't think anybody stole anything, personally. The company that produced these tablets can't sit on that kind of inventory based on a promise. That's not how you do good business. Their price, I'm willing to bet is still a profit for them.

My connection in China is going to get one and I should have it in the US when I get back from vacation. I've wasted more money out of curiosity.
