Bug 2485 has been added to the database.

There's no bugzilla section for the "Map" application and there never will be. Any bug submissions there for "Map" will not be acted on and will not be appreciated. The "Map" application was done on contract, and fixes for it are very unlikely (and if they do, it wont be any time soon).

There's no "Map" category because they don't want bugs related to it. Also, a few points regarding bug submissions, the suggested responses under REPRODUCIBILITY should be deleted, and any headings that you don't use (OTHER SOFTWARE) should just be deleted.

Thanks for the input. I understand what you are saying here. I went ahead and filed the bug, and let them deal with it. It'll either get fixed or it won't. I still prefer Maemo Mapper, though the POI indicators and the 3d view in Wayfinder are nice.

Also, thanks for the feedback (no sarcasm) on filing bugs.

It sounds strange that Nokia wouldn't want bug reports for Wayfinder, it's no more 3party than Opera and they certainly wanted bugs to be reported through bugzilla - in fact whenever any kind of problem comes up they seem to point us to bugzilla.

The better route is to call Nokia and ***** about it. Like I said, bugs in bugzilla aren't going to change anything.

It's become a bit of a hobby over the last few weeks. Glad to help.

Strange it may be, but bugzilla wont get you anywhere with "Map" (notice the lack of a category for it). If you want results, take it up with Nokia over the phone.

Please dont. Mine is a 2 page review and one sentence embedded into the whole thing, and the search function of the forum is so, so. Apologize not warranted, the more the merrier for reader to be aware fo the problem, in fact, I am glad you brought it to the attention.

Understood, however:

1. It's just not that important (to me).
2. I don't have time to spend in "voicemail hell".
3. It is a beta, perhaps it will be fixed before release. ;^/

I put in a help request at the Wayfinder site and got this response this morning:

Dear Sir
Thank you for contacting Wayfinder support

This is a bug in the system, and we will fix it for the next Nokia firmware release. At the moment, the problem should be ficed by downloading more voices to the program. Please go to Wayfinder > Settings > Voice (next to it is a button where it says Download) > Click on Downloadable > Select a voice (preferably in English) and download the voice. As crazy as this may seem, this should help with the problem.
