Now if those *****s would realise this they should license SailfishOS if they want to sell more phones! How f.... hard is it for them to understand that?

Stupid *****s
Licensing deal would be a 'deal' (LTS, myriad licensing, here maps and their devs, MS for exchange etc), they went with community support, works for them and those few SFOS fanatics that will buy their phone to have updated HW with their poison of choice

Oh and btw, all the complainers how the UI should be scalable/tabletable from the start, here is a video of SFOS 1.0 working on an 'unsupported' resolution 1920x1080, which required so much reworking as it was not scalable at all, but somehow first port works/displays nicely:

April 2014, Jolla did everything wrong from the start. Guess swipes needed to be adjusted to actual inches pixels represent to be usable on bigger formats, but display resolution independence was there from the start. Maemo/meego was definitely better on the myriad devices it was ported to. Find something else to complain about

How can poeple pay tax and not get a product or refund? That cant be part of the IGG campaign? What did you pay tax for then? Nothing I cant see how that is legal even for a crowedfunding? Im Playing the scam card for that.

Right or wrong?

Ever flown from the UK (or stopped there for over 24h)? Then you did (unless you consider air quality in London to be a product). Take the queen to courts
Then you had ecotaxes when entering some european countries (czech republic and hungary iirc?) for their well preserved ecology, though these are no longer applicable after entering the EU I believe. You can tax anything, find the product and refund is the challenge

Atleast you get air quality. That is also rules you know when you buy your ticket? In Jollas case you got nothing and pay when it's ready to ship...but it's not.

I thought you could only tax purchases.

We had to glue up so much for just plain FHD. Many problems around the place. It was the beginning of scalability work to bring it to N5.

If you slap a phone app on a tablet it will look like crap (just try running Android 2.x apps on an Android tablet, and you'll see), even though you took care that it scales up properly (pretty easy with QML) and all that. To make it look like a tablet app, you have to redesign your UI. And naturally you only start to think about tablet UI design once there is a tablet on the horizon, especially if you have deadlines to meet and a very very tight budget.

Would assume QML (hell even html will align those icons properly) would keep it mostly working. Are there any screenshots of it displaying incorrectly? Was it 800x480 window in top left that was the main screen, or rather some over/underflowing texts? Searched for images of 'nexus5 sailfish' for a while to see any of those, could not find any. Assumed first port was without UI glue (you can see swipes working very badly as bigger screens reqwuires longer ones, but alignment seems like not requiring any tweaking)

It was QML on Qt 4.8. It was simply Nemo on a N950 with a custom QML homescreen in the early days. Most parts of the QML could be reused, though. So that was not the issue. But some C++ code needed porting from Qt 4 to Qt 5. Or the PackageKit-Qt bindings which were still missing Qt 5 support at that time as upstream did not bother with Qt 5 yet.

The problem mostly was the same applications running different ratio screens but giving same feeling.
But as there are not much apps on Jolla and android already resolved the problems for android apps. I would ask you - what exactly is the hard part?
