I've connected N9 battery into my old LG GT540 and it's charging them, but...
battery percentage starts from 50-60%, drop down to 5-10% and up very fast to 100%. Different percentage values when screen turns on to check. While charger is unplugged, percentage drops to less than 15% in seconds.

Yes, dead battery without a doubt.
If I remember correctly the same battery is used at least with Lumia 800.

Check this:
- output (with grey cable - 1.73V)
- main battery.
Is that normal?
I've checked old battery from my LG GT540, and same values are on output and main battery - 3.93V.

Reflash only a kernel, it should update the charge table (or however it is called). For some reason I had to reflash it several times, if I'm not mistaken.
Another thing you may run into is that everything works ok, but bmestat defines battery condition as UNKNOWN. I installed a new battery a few months ago and have the same output of bmestat, so it's kinda normal, I guess.

In normal, would be "LI4V2"
Mine is "ERROR"
