No, you can't, probably. Dialog page with text fields/inputs, comboboxes and then swipe to confirm/save instead of hit button on Android, pulldown/pullup menu...

I head that Sony is discontinuing the Xperia X series.

How this is going to effect us?

Honestly, Sonys naming convention irritates me.

Just to know what you are talking about: The primary focus is on the device Sony Xperia X aka F5121 and F5122 for the dual sim one?

I'm actually pretty happy with my rooted Sony XA.
In a sense, of course that Android is quite ok ... when you spend a 'certain' amount of time to install a rom, plus some apps to change the way Android is supposed to work
But what about the future... Do you think this is enough to change the market ? I am quite convinced that all the failures of BB, Ubuntu, FFOS... are due to all those 'nice' people focusing on Android instead and making it free enough for their taste.

But will it remain possible to install a rom or the magic app that you are happy to play with... That is not quite clear. While if you spend your money and your energy on alternative platforms, that helps to improve the possibilities in the future.

For the moment, buying Android, whatever you do with your device, is supporting Google and their vision of the world. And they are quite winning ;-)

You cannot turn Windows into Linux by making it look like Linux, and vice versa.

Sailfish OS is a full blown Linux operating system and almost everything you've learned by using Linux servers or desktops is applicable to SFOS: cron, scripting, crypting, tunneling etc. Comparing SFOS to Android is like comparing a computer operating system to an application.

For now they'll focus on the single sim model aka. F5121.

Seeing someone equating the UI with the OS makes me feel sad

Yeah, sadly that's true.

Ironically, I've spend more time to make Sailfish OS work properly (Patchmanager) than I did with Android.

I was referring to the 'swiping' thing like the N9 and Sailfish OS (going to apps and swiping it away)

Exactly how did you do that? I can't get the commands right. I'm stuck on...
Code:
[root@Sailfish nmap]# make install
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
Edit:
Forget about it. Command should be[
Code:
pkcon make install
Edit 2:
Nope, pkcon didn't work.
