Has anyone found a 3rd-party stylus for the N810? I'm planning on getting one (though I would like to try it out in person first) and one of the few negatives I've read in reviews is disappointment with the stylus. I should think there'd be a market for this on much the same level as many PDAs.

My own fingernail has been the best / most convenient stylus solution for me... but I suppose that it's actually a 1st party stylus

Erm... I don't see anything wrong with the N810 stylus myself, it's just a bit of plastic. It feels just like all the other styluses I've used on other devices.

But like chrisak says, fingernails are pretty darn good too if you have the right kind of fingernail.

I've been using guitar finger picks like these: http://www.promusicaustralia.com/gui...small.bk.2.JPG off and on for the past 10 years. No reason why one wouldn't work with the internet tablets. I think the most expensive one I ever bought was like $1 US.

My other fav stylus is any ball point click pen with a soft plastic shell. With the pen clicked in, the housing works quite well.

How much for your fingernail

Anyways - the stylus is a particular shape to fit in the Nokia 810. I'd like something that did the same at least. Is anyone familiar with pouring plastic? It would seem to be easy to make a plaster mold. I'm just not familiar with pouring plastic.

I'd say "it's just a bit of plastic" sums it up nicely--the best styli I've used were made mostly of metal. (I've been using PDAs and smartphones--Palm OS in particular--for 10 years now.) Granted, this one looks to be a slightly bigger plastic "twig" than many, so that's a small plus.

I've used a fingernail on plenty of occasions too. Works well (I find) for a quick tap or two. Not so good for anything that involves repeated taps in quick succession.
