I'm looking to find a live demo unit of a Nokia N810--somewhere local--and it's a needle-in-a-haystack kind of thing.

I haven't seen any stores yet that do carry it and have demos.

Best Buy? Circuit City? Staples? Online only.

Office Depot? Doesn't carry it.

CompUSA? Gone from this area almost a year ago.

Micro Center? Close, but no cigar. They do carry it. They have it in stores. On the sales floor... empty display boxes! And the reps can't bring one out just to demo.

So what stores do have demo units?

Ok. I've only once been to that location, shortly after they opened. All they had at that point was the N800. Fairfax--just display boxes.

I'll let you test out mine if you're ever in the Ft. Belvoir or Stafford VA area.

I went there today and found:

Good news: they still have a live display unit (sort of)...

Bad news: the pin in the power connection has come loose (with or without help) and it won't charge. So I did get a sense of what it's like to hold one. Unfortunately, as it was out of juice, it wouldn't turn on. The store rep I was talking to wasn't sure how soon it would be fixed/replaced.

Both of their websites list it as online only. Long shot at best. Maybe next time I'm out that way...
