Franko30: Yes, it works on tablet. Unfortunately omweather's partner id and key are hardcoded in the omweather code, they're not in any configuration file.

A tip:
I first built myself a version from svn (source) with the modification described in an earlier posting, but the applet wouldn't show up and when I selected it in the user panel I only got a popup with the same old error messages - even with the network off. Then I made a version which reads the magical string from /home/user/.omwrc, but I had the same problem.
It turned out that I had to remove those short .xml files (with the original error report) from /home/apps/omweather/, after I did that it showed up in the UI when I selected it, and an update fixed everything. (And now I have a version with user-modifiable magic URL string, for future changes)
Unless there's something strange on my setup then this could be a problem also for those of you using the patched version that someone linked to above: If problems, remove the short .xml file(s) in /home/user/apps/omweather/ and try again (NB: Obviously you also need a patched omweather to begin with)
EDIT: The problem I had (blocked as long as the old error-report .xml files were in place) could possibly be because the patched version I installed is based on 0.21, not 0.20)

Vlad is on vacation at the moment. He will be back in about two weeks.
I can build & upload omweather packages to the repository if needed, but I'm afraid of possible legal issues with weather.com licence argeement.
Can someone explain the situation with this?
Ed

It seems to me the thing to do in order to avoid any licensing agreement hassles (licensing can change at anytime, BTW) would be to provide a means for the user to input the required URL.
The software can then be provided "as is" and any liabilities would be the users.
did you do it in Ubuntu, or on the Nokia tablet?
I'm asking, because my original question was where to find the configuration file for OMweather.
Thanks in advance.
