http://upstart.ubuntu.com/

Quick version I compiled. I included the sample boot scripts.

This boosts up boot times extremely but hangs on shutdown :P
So you will have to take out your battery :/ to shutdown.
Also booting with charger in takes you into desktop w/out touch screen

I'll install fanoush's framebuffer stuff and see what the problem is.

Oh yes, dpkg -i --force-all has to be used. Install at own risk.

Hehe, I'll probably end up reinstalling sysvinit

But I love the time it takes to boot with upstart. I'll check the framebuffer and see problems. ATM, I'm trying initng to see if it fares any better.

I'm not too upset with how fast the IT starts, but if you can get MicroB to start fast, that, I would love!

Can't help you there :P.

All I'm gonna say is that in the Diablo beta, it's gotten worse than Chinook.

YIKES! The battery will be discharged before it opens! Not good.

It seemed to work ok for me. I only turn off my tablet when I am swapping batteries anyway, so so shutting off by removing the battery seems natural.

Keep in mind we're still in a very beta state right now, and the unofficial Diablo setups aren't exactly 100% flake-free. I've got at least 2 bugs that are still being worked on for MicroB before release, so things aren't fixed yet.
