Is the procedure in the first post in this thread still applicable? I have an N800 w/ RX-34_2008SE_2.2007.51-3_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin. Everything works and I can boot from the flash card ONCE. Then, when I reboot, I get "failed to boot from immc2, booting from flash", and then the unit boots from the original flash. I'd appreciate any advice on how to debug or fix this.

Thanks,

I think I misunderstood you. I just posted one detail instructions here, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...t=8631&page=35, thread #347, see whether that helps. I thought you want to clone it on N800 and use it on N810, is that correct? That is exactly that post for, specially made for Sachin007. If you want to do it straight on N810, same process, Milhouse's script will AUTOMATICALLY detected the partition and ask "do you want to install here?" As long as there is ONLY one partition in your tablet, i.e., only one sfdisk in the whole, Milhouse script will find the right partition and all you have to is to say "YES", the cloning will run by itself, nothing to adjust. Very sweet. Again, use the same instruction on that post, #347, and insert your miniSD into the ext slot, Milhouse's script will detect it and install there.

Post back if questions,

bun

We can help you, with more info. Failed to boot from flash, can be a lot of thing, most likely partition problem on some brands of SD cards, see here for details, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=16067. Is there any error message after the cloning? If none, your brand of the SD cards need LLF.

Hey, man, you started all these. I would not be here if it was not you that encouraged me the LLF. Oh, BTW, I really really enjoy this clone thing. I think it is a very valuable learning experience and a good mental exercise for me, . I just got my Patriot 8G miniSD for my N810 and I cloned it from my N800 and sticked the thing into my N810. Now my N810 booted just like my N800 and every little apps and utilities I have on the N800 is now on my N810. And the new N810 is now having the same working desktop/environment as my N800. I love it.

Nice to hear from you again,

bun

Got your PM this AM

If it failed booting from your flash, there is either,
1) your clone is not good,
2) there is no choice to choose that clone.

Are you trying to boot from your N810 using a clone made from N800? First test the clone, to make sure it is a good clone. Then you have to modify the bootmenu to give you the choice to choose that clone. The original Fanoush menu DOES NOT have that choice, you have to modify the bootmenu as mine, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=20296, you can copy the whole bootmenu. It worked well,

Hope this helps,

bun

Guys,i've got a problem..I tried to make a dual boot on my n810 according to instruction on 1st page, after a command " tar zxvf initfs_flasher.tgz cd initfs_flasher/ ./initfs_flash " after extracting some files(as far as i understand) it said " tar: cd: not found in archive "
What should i have to do?

look like you had three commands in one shot!
You should have had issued three commands at three different times!
