Wouldn't it just be SO cool if the neat wx radar would overlay the other map tiles when you clicked a button...

Wouldn't that wx overlay be even more useful over the aviation AND MARINE charts, turning MM into the finest marine chartplotter on the planet....witth cellular live updates...

Just dreaming...thanks to all who made MM such a great program....amazing.

Yes, it's available for OS2008, and it's the exact same version. proj is available in each of the Maemo Extras repositories from which maemo-mapper is available, so if you used a Maemo Extras repository to install Maemo Mapper, then it should be available already in your Application Manager. If not, then use this link to install proj for OS2008:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/d...l/proj.install

I did a fresh install - installed "proj" first, then MM and SHAZZZAM!!! Works a charm! Low-route VFR charts on my N810....and i've only had it 3 days!!

How many level can you zoom to? mine stopped at 10.

TIA,

bun

Hi..

Yes it only zooms in to level 10.

I get levels 18,17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10

Got to use it last night on a X-country flight....worked an absolute charm! Check the link below for evidence

Especially good at night time on the way back!:

(Note: GPS in use is the bluetooth external "GlobalTop G66" - gets a fix within 25 seconds flat every single time - During this flight I never took it out of my shirt pocket)

Thanks again to the creator of MM!!!

The pics are gorgeous. Too bad, looks like you are a little bit camera shy. Thanks,

The guy you see on the flikr link is not me...it's my sleepy instructor. He works hard...so I let him sleep on the X-Country flights.

He was mightily impressed with the N810....Saves messing around trying to unfold a 2ft x 4ft map all the time. I swear that's how all plane crashes occur....map folding.

I can copy the URL, but can't seem to paste in the URL Format field maemo mapper. Am I missing something?

On the virtual keyboard, there are buttons on the left, one of which is a menu for the virtual keyboard itself. In that menu are menu items to copy or paste. Use the paste menu item to paste the contents of the clipboard into any field in any application.

If you're using an N810, you have to put the hardware keyboard away in order to access the menu, since it is only available on the virtual keyboard. I wish the menu were available via the hardware keyboard....

Go to "manage repositories" on the main menu, and check what the minimum zoom for download is set at.
