Thanks.

I was experiencing various issues with the hava player not remembering settings; Hava put out .56 to update for those that had this problem.

Unfortunately, I've also got a couple of problems that aren't fixed. I just put in a DVR to replace my standard cable box and the list button to access the recordings on the dvr doesn't work. I think that's easily solved with a future upgrade. Does anyone else have this problem right now? I'm using a scientific atlanta 8300 dvr model. The other bug I'm experiencing is driving me nuts. When I change channel, it'll always add a 4 to the end. For example, channel 12, will go to 124. I don't have this problem with the PC version and I've uninstalled, rebooted the nokia, rebooted the hava unit without success. I had to go back to .48 to make the channel changer work correctly.

I've sent a bug to Hava with the log file in hopes that they can track down why my hava player is doing this because I'm frankly at a loss.

It sounds like the Hava box isn't sending the right IR commands to your DVR box. Fire up the PC wizard and go through the setup again to choose a different model number for your box.

You can also use an option in there to teach your IR commands manually but that's a bit more time consuming.

Thanks for the advice. Your suggestion to run the setup again made me realize that Hava's updated remote bin for the Scientific Atlanta 8300 DVR isn't compatible yet with the N810. When I went back to the standard AT Remote settings in the setup for the cable box, the N810's channel changing worked fine. I've pretty much lost DVR functions at this point, but at least I know that's something which is solveable in a future upgrade.

There's that 174 setup software update for the Player that keeps popping up on the PC. Last time I checked Hava's N810 beta team advised against updating that at this point. Would you happen to know if we've got the all clear on downloading that version yet, because I'm thinking it might solve a lot of my remote problems considering that in the newest version there's actually a cox cable skin for the remote in the update notes.

Thanks again for your help

I recieved a email from Hava regarding the 174 setup.

"Dear chosen loyal Beta testers,

Monsoon Multimedia had listed in the Beta 3 v.54 release that the HAVA Mobile Player for the Internet Tablet was not ‘Fully Compatible’ with the newly released 1.7.4 firmware as listed below:

“We are still aware of open issues (listed below as well) that we will continue working on to fix. A big one for us is full compatibility between the HAVA Mobile Player for N8xx and the upcoming new release of HAVA software for PC v.1.7.4 and its associated HAVA firmware. This is the reason why we call this build still Beta (3) and not Golden Master candidate.”

From limited internal testing and a few Beta volunteers who tried the compatibility between 1.7.4 and Beta 3 v.54, reported no crashes or major hang ups. However a few UI issues and audio video sync issues were experienced."

Also if you are having problems with your remote functions have a look on the Hava Forum page

you might find some help on there.

After using the HAVA Wireless HD now for a couple of weeks I figured out that I am clearly not a TV watching guy. I am streaming a lot of films/series but I'am looking nearly no TV at all and so I've decided to sell my HAVA Wireless HD. If you are interrested in the box please check out this thread in "Sell & Buy".

the Hava is pretty useful for watching stuff that you need to see at the moment like sports.

Tried the IR learning option, but it doesn't seem to work for the Titanium HD wi-fi. Says something on their webpage about that option not being implemented yet on that model. Doesn't seem to recognize the remote in the area you are supposed to point it at.

Anyone tried the IR learning mode on the Titanium wireless HD model and actually got it working?

I updated the software and firmware to the latest 1.746. It didn't break anything, but it didn't change anything either as far as DVR remote functions, so I guess I'm just waiting for an updated remote bin for the SA 8300 that makes all the codes for the DVR function on the pc hava player without screwing up the Nokia.

Sorry to see you letting go of your HAVA. I dont think I watch 'that' much TV either, but I keep my HAVA, cause

1) it works
2) I like to keep the option open, that I can watch my cable TV whenever I would like to.

I have NOT upgrade to 174 either. If they have to send off an email about the uninstalling script, I would rather wait.......if it aint broken....why the fix?

Bottom line, I am happy with the HAVA. The AVsync thing? Well, have not noticed it lately, maybe its fixed by the .54 update.

what;s strange is that the original beta worked really well for me. granted, it streamed the video at full speed and drained my battery in 2 hours or less. the battery message was annoying too.

the newer betas seem to have more issues than they have fixed....
