Anything that's Chinook specific that would hurt a Diablo install? I plan on turning my cloned Chinook system into a cloned Diablo system (following this guide). Though I hope to skip the reformat and repartition the SDHC card step since I have it on my 16 GB SDHC and I really don't want to unload all the music and stuff (I technically could just overwrite the existing chinook partition right?)

Edit: It works.

Hi
I have updated the sys to the Diablo and re-run the whole process. But at the end of initfs_flash, it reported an error "unkown initfs version 2008-24, cannot install bootmenu"

So, do we have any update solution for Diablo?

but, penguinbait

by using bootmenu from your work, what is the correct steps for the HOW TO guide now? I guess some steps may no longer needed, while some steps still require mannual input

I think the HOW TO guide in this thread is pretty much history after Penguinbait's .deb. As you can see, I've modified my signature It's possible my HOW TO offers more flexibility than Penguinbait's .deb, though possbily not after he added these helpful tools.

If someone finds uses for the HOW TO, which aren't covered by the easy-to-use deb, please post them here. I'm kind of rusty at it all by now and don't really know.

Hi, I've been tryin to boot from mmc in my IT for a while now but I'm getting nothing but frustrations. I've followed all the step by step guides I can find but I'm stuck somewhere. I find you very easy and was going smooth as well until I hit the comman at the kind of end: # ./nupgrade.sh wipe, I get the following error:
================================================== =========

Target device: Internal Flash card, second partition (/dev/mmcblk0p2)

Using filesystem: ext2fs

Continue? (YES/no) : YES

Reformatting Internal Flash card, second partition for Sardine using ext2fs...

Unable to locate mbcache.ko - aborting

================================================== ==========

Then I'm helpless. So can you please help me through this. Any help will be greatly appriciated. I also did this from the another guid: '# insmod /mnt/initfs/lib/modules/2.6.21-omap1/mbcache.ko' but it says: File already exists. So, please help me get thru it. Thanks.

I edited the code in nupgrade.sh as I noticed it bit different than what my IT had and it rolled.

BACK TO STUCK: I got excited to get it rolling then in the verbose it was echoing can't open file doesn't exist something. But still it was rolling but then it stopped saying no space. Then I looked in control panel and device memory is full, internal memory is corrupted and my removable memory if fit and healthy. So, I reformatted internal memory and tried "umount /media/mmc2" coz before I entered mmc1 but still the internal memory is said to corrupted and removable is healthy again. So, please clear me about whats happening here.. thanks

hi, now that i've finally did the cloning to my internal memory of my n810, I'm obviously very happy. but recently, as I wiped out all my map data while doing that, i tried to download map data but i got message that my internal memory is only 12 mb. so, after the cloning of OS to internal memory here's my memory details:
device - 1.4GB available
internal memory - 12 mb available
external memory - 968 mb available (it is jus 1GB card)

so what should i do to be able to download map in my IT. Thanks

Move the whole map folder to external memory. The program will find the map folder and dl to the right spot. However, it is still too small for map, you need more than 1.5G. When dl a 800 MB map, you may need 1G or 1.1 G for working space.

Thanks bun, btw I only download australia map which is just 84 mb. So, it should be alright. Also, though I have edited the bootmenu to appear while booting from 30 to 120 still it goes off in a blink and the OS boots from flash. So, what can I do, how about removing OS image from the flash, that way, I'll have space left as well but I have no idea how I can do that or should I be doing in the very first place? Thanks
