XChat was the very first application I installed on my 770 and it was sooooo cool to have a real desktop-application on the small tablet. Then it was gone, no compatible version anymore. And now it's back, and it's better than ever! It really looks good in its hildon glory. I love it!
btw: there's a setting you can change in xchat.conf: irc_conf_mode is 0 by default. Change it to 1 and you'll no longer see join/part-messages. They can take to much screen estate in crowded channels...
