Yep, everyone knows data analysts are hired for creativity, not looks.

Don't muddy this all up with facts. I go with the truthiness from my gut. You can't trust facts! Heck.. even my spell-checker is nagging at me that 'truthiness' isn't a word--but I know in my gut that it IS a word... and that's a fact.

BTW: HUuuuuuuge thanks to maacruz for gathering all that info and for the constructive suggestions! ...even if they're not a good exercise in truthiness.

(OT) LOL... I laughed my *** off at Stewart and Colbert last night. Colbert had Paul Begala in stitches, too. Those guys are enjoying the US political craziness too much. Almost as much as some of you are enjoying the SSU (see how I brought that back on topic?)

OK, I don't know what the problem was before because the update installed fine today. Weird. Browser is a little faster (especially on this forum), but I'll have to check elsewhere to see if there's a major difference. Anyone know if the battery charge problem still exists (giving false readings, etc)?

one thing that now works for me that never did before is that the file manager now lists windows and SMB servers on the lan, which has been a bonus.

also, file manager shows bluetooth devices like my phone, again, it never showed that before.

it does seem slower connecting to wifi.

I've not exercised it enough to comment on speed of the browser.

EDIT: yes, its definitely a bit "snappier". was browser Auntie Beeb's news this morning and pages rendered faster with zoom and full screen switching being very quick - it nearly completed the zooming before the pop-up appeared saying "zoom to 120%". Thanks, Nokia.

Well, I'm really happy with the fact that all this stuff is in this one thread, so if I have a problem all I have to do is make an in-depth study of 32 pages!!

I just reflashed the old-fashioned way and didn't even restore a backup. Everything is working fine.

Strange. I have the update, but I can't get file manager to see the SMB shares on my network.

I can't seem to find anyway to adjust the settings (like the workgroup name) anyplace. Is there something extra I need to install?

OK, welcome to Diablo original completely-non-updated, then...

There's no FIASCO images for anything since 2008.23-14 that I can find. (On http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N800.php, that is.) So while reflashing the old-fashioned way works, it doesn't really help. (Unless you know of an updated image somewhere else? I try to keep the latest image on hand, since last time I trashed my initfs and Nokia's servers were down... So by all means, let us know if you swiped found an image of 36-5!)
