@qgil: thanks for taking the time to do the podcast. it's good to get some insight and context for projects like Qt.

I listened to the podcast yesterday. I wish Leo and Randall would do a little more research before doing these interviews. I guess it helps inform the public that also has the same questions, but it makes them look ignorant.

mrklaw, i thought they asked quite a lot of decent questions.

Additionally, they talk about different kit every time they are on you couldn't expect them to know everything about everything.

quim held his own and it made for a more honest discussion and appraisal with folks than a hardcore fanboy lovein.

what part made them look ignorant?

These things are made by a cellphone manufacturer, remember, not some wimpy PC clone company.
I bought a used N800 in September '08. It worked great.

On one of my rides home in October, the lid of my water bottle was not securely tightened. It leaked water all the way home. When I pulled the tablet's carrying case out of the pannier, it was soaking wet.

I immediately turned off the tablet (it was still functional) and let it dry out for a few days. It works fine again, except the right speaker usually blasts out a single, full-volume tone when I enable the speakers. If I use headphones, there's no problem with the audio.

So, no, the N800s are not waterproof

I didn't intend to give that impression. I've found the original story though.

You're welcome! For what is worth, I'm ususally open to chats and talks and I have answered to all offers received, including a Thoughtfix show and a bunch of questions penguinbait emailed once.

Some time ago there was this idea about having a monthly chat in #maemo-meeting, we had one... but never a second.

The only one that really stuck out in my mind was when Randal was asking if it had a touchscreen or a keyboard. You don't have to do hours of research to figure stuff like that out.

Once they got all that out of the way, I thought that it was a really good interview.
