Correct me if I'm doing something wrong:

1. I purchased USB Bluetooth dongle
2. I plugged it in into the PC, installed everything
3. I'm trying to add a device into my Personal Area Network under the Network Settings in Windows.
4. Windows cannot find Nokia!

In the Nokia bluetooth settings (the little bluetooth icon at the tray) it says "Bluetooth on" and "Visible" (both are checked)

Please advise.

Andrey.

if so, unless the driver added something, there should a be a white B looking icon in the tray.

rightclick on it, select add bluetooth device, then follow the wizard...

O, from the Control Panel I was able to find Bluetooth Devices and add my Nokia N810 to the list. How do I get access to its files or whatever? What kind of access does it provide?

Thanks,

Andrey.

There is an existing, recent thread on this topic.

Is there an easy way of file sharing between the Nokia N810 and the PC? Mentioned threads doesn't answer this question easily...

If you have paired your device with the PC the tablet detects the file shared folder automatically so you can do this to be sure if it is paired, on the tablet bring up bluetooth - device - new device- then paired it again. if you have already solved problem forget if not after successfully pairing your device with the PC open file manager then shared folders there you will see the PC bluetooth shared folder.

In that case, you don't want PAN. PAN is for sharing an Internet connection on your PC through to your tablet.

Once you've paired your PC and your tablet, sending a file from one to the other involves right-clicking (or tap-and-holding) on the file to be sent and selecting the appropriate option in the context menu. On your tablet, it's "Send -> via Bluetooth...". It should be similar on your Windows computer.

iirc, the name of the pc should show up in the tablets file manager under the bluetooth heading, that is, if the pc is set to allow the tablet (or any other device) to browse a defined dir.

sadly, the tablets do not allows such browsing from a pc or other device...
