Can I do this with the delivered software without extra free? Or should I use other free programs like Maemo Mapper? For me it's important I can use this function offline without data connection (to the internet).
On the firm I can't use WLAN but Bluetooth. Is it possible to connect the N810 with BT to a WinXP PC with BT to get LAN access?
It is possible to use the N810 as a "headset" with a Windows Mobile Phone connected with Bluetooth? Would be nice, if my Phone could be on the case and only one the N810 on the desk. Well, the BT connection sould be established on standby with "wake on ring".
If I'm right there are no office programs für OS2008 available? How can I open Word or Excel files (read and write if possible)? I know about abiword and gnumeric should be ported but can't find it for OS2008.
Maybe "Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition" is a solution?
How long can I use the N810 on average without charging if BT and GPS are on?
Thx & best regards,
Frank

Thanks for all the answers, sounds realy good for me so far.![]()
But one ohter question I have: As on the N770 the N810 will install new programs directly from the internet. Well I had some trouble with my Linux Zaurus PDA, because many repos are down now. Because of that it would be nice to have the software needed localy for offline installation too. So it is possible to download it (e.g. from Maemo Downloads) and install from SD card or LAN?
Regards,
Frank

Because I can't get it work on my N770 and I have read about trouble with last OS2008 release on N810 - Can anybody confirm Bluetooth PAN works well (without using xterm) with latest OS2008 (Diablo/4.1 ?) on N810?
It's very important for me I can connect the N810 with PAN for internet connection with my WinXP PC.
Regards,
Frank
I have a N770 (OS2006) but like to upgrade to N810 (OS2008) mainly because of the builtin keyboard. Well, now I have some question about.
On a review I have read 30% of the internal storage was used by the navigation software but I have to pay an extra fee to use it. So can I remove this - for me useless - software?
Well, I only want to use GPS for offline position tracking (don't know the right term). I want to store the map of a region on the Nokia (or the storage card) and see where I am on this map. If I can see some POIs too, it would be great.
