Hello,

Given that the n800, n810, and n810 wimax have similar hardware and configuration, is there a way to create an image to clone a default installation of the OS and distribute that as a standard?

Possibly use like acronis or norton and restore the image to a flash card or something without going through all these manual command-line steps?

soo beautiful.. I'm just afraid of putting on my N810 yet and running, because doing so with Debian LDXE somewhat traumatized me with its extremely sluggish response on the N810, and I'm afraid of this doing the same. Is it possible that the performance speed can be raised with this?

Performance ... i think YES... but.

Ubuntu doesn't work. Even you install it, install boot menu and proper boot it hangs on 99%... so this HowTo by bman is good, but it need to be totaly review.

Mer isn't good to. Very SLOW, sometimes hangs on boot and only turn from console in rescue mode.

I am back to OS2008 and right now i am staying.

About Debian LDXE... i have testet in on SDHC Class 2 (horror), in this Weekend i will test it on SDHC Class 6, so i will check, that performance for normal working is enought.

ps. Performance OS2008 on SDHC Class 4 is god

greets.

Hmm.. I'll have to look into getting a higher end SDHC card today then. I've only got a 2gig normal MicroSD card in my N810 right now, which I took from my old blackberry, so that may be the main culprit for the poor performance I am getting right now

The speed of your SD card makes a HUGE difference. Class 2 is basically unusable, you really want class 6 (or faster!)

yeah i figured. I noticed with my PSP for example, that although my card was an 8G Pro Duo, the longer I used the card, and the more frequently, the more sluggish it became, until eventually music would literally "skip" in mp3 form, or just not play, and when i would run ISOs (yes I hacked my psp), the cutscene videos would take an hour to play though due to skipping... I also realized I never reformatted my microSD before putting it into my N810 which is a pretty big no no haha... 2 year old card, has seen heavy use, not reformatted.. all a recipe for the problem I'm having

You say you partitioned a 4GB "Internal" MMC? How did you increase it from the hardwired 2GB that comes factory installed?

I'm not sure to whom you are replying, but if that person was speaking of an N800, they can put whatever capacity SDHC card they like (and can afford) in the internal slot.

It was a reply to the OP (I think), when he started talking about the steps on how he partitioned his card. So that makes sense then. I have an N810 though, and so (as far as I know), I'm stuck with the 2GB internal. What would be the ideal way to partition that for installing this?

Okay, so I have an N810 with the Hardwired Internal MMC, but I would really like to be able to install this (Desktop and all), so what would anyone suggest I do to make it happen, or is it not possible. I see several mentions of B-man saying it needs at least 4GB Card... Seeing that the only device he has, I'm assuming he means Internal MMC (I don't see anywhere in the thread where it specifies which MMC requires this much, just that Ubuntu Jaunty needs it). Aside from the 2GB Internal that I cannot change on my N810, I do have a 8GB external card installed. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
