A little nugget was dropped this morning from Peter @ Nokia:

we will become Maemo Devices, when our hardware, software and product integration folks are joined to one unit being able to work together even better and faster
Of course, Nokia reorganizes itself every 2-3 years or so, but this is a significant development. Many times, there has been frustration that Maemo SW was a bit independent of the HW. Here's hoping for a line of devices from the new Maemo Devices division...

I was suprised to read this in Peter's post... I hadn't heard of it before. At least /me thinks this is an important step in the evolution of Maemo - or maybe: An important document of how Maemo evolved. I'm curious if we'll see a more official announcement of this (and what it means) or if they consider it one of many re-organisations over the years.

It is an important step. And we should see an announcement soon (at least by the Maemo division). Many re-organizations at Nokia , but Maemo seems to be new, sort of like the enterprise division back in 2004(?).
