The BoyGeniusReport is the most hateful and worst review I ever read. In USA and Canada (except NY and Chicago), people don't have the Nokia London on Regent street to try the device - they REALLY RELY ON THESE REVIEWS to make up our mind.

For me, anyway, this device with low RAM and high price is not the deal I want right now, don't get me wrong. But I cannot stand the lies of that review.

What do you think about BGR and his review on N97 and what other reviews did you find interesting about this device?

My opinions match BGR's. The N97 doesn't quite match what I'd expect for such a high priced phone.

I can't speak for the N97, but I've also never thought very highly of BGR's reviews. They always seemed to me like they set out to destroy everything they review, and only the best survive. Kinda like what Rotten Tomatoes does to movies. To me, that's not the right way to do a review. You need to start out on neutral ground and then let the device decide your ultimate response from there.

Also, the two guys mentioned at Mobile Review and Cnet do a great job reviewing hardware and they do it the right way. So I'm gonna mark BGR's report as invalid. Plus it seems to reek of too many selfish motives (fanboyism gone bad maybe?) that soil the review. Plus the comments agree with me. It was a completely lousy review. And I speak from experience since I'm a reviewer myself. It's also why you won't see me reviewing things I hold strong opinions over. I don't feel that it's fair to the device or application if I do, since it's guaranteed that my opinions will sneak into the review and ruin any objectivity I might have.

It's also why I very carefully pick my review items so that I make sure that when I do a review it's as fair and balanced as humanly possible. BGR's was not fair and balanced. One guy even pointed out that the reviewer completely missed some very key and important details. That's a red flag right there for me.

I thought that whole website is based, and made famous by, the jailbreaking of an Iphone and is intentionally slanted towards Apple products since that is their "claim to fame"...

The reactions to the review on the BGR site were pretty devastating for BGR, I thought.

I wrote a comment on BGR review 6 hours ago but it was not approved. He does not like the truth.

Well, if that's true, that explains a lot about why they're like they are. Good old Apple fanboyism at it's best. Which means their credibility just took a head first drive right down the toilet.
Further proof of his lack of credibility. A similar bout of that went through the PC hardware review world a few years back, resulting in the death of several popular sites, and the spawning of such sites as legitreviews that tried to throw off the stigma of bad or biased reviews started by that little fallout.

Even legitimate sites like the one I was working at suffered from that, so I've been through that whole bad journalism mixed with fanboyism thing already, and it sucks, even if you're not involved in it.

I think the website posted by the OP has a fair and even-handed review http://nokiaexperts.com/ since he is updating his impressions as he uses it...

I can't say anything to that respect, but I will say I haven't heard anything negative about them, so that's always a good thing, even if you haven't heard anything positive either.
