Also its fast, the video display using compiz and xwinwrap can use as much as 25% of the CPU resources. But its screaming flipping bouncing

Should have said "free as in beer".

For me, there's usually no "useful" propietary software. It's useless, since it does what most people want (and not what you usually want: nice paradox :P).

BTW, I know someone who is easily impressed by that rotating cube and tends to name it "the magic cube". He of course asked me "how to put that magic cube on" when shown Linux

Hear, hear.
Now, do the same for windows (I mean, search for any problem with google) and all you find is useless noise, some results from expert-sex-change or a complicated procedure involving stopping/starting/disabling/enabling services and/or editing half a millon registry keys.

I think all of that is true. It also means, I know what works for what:

* I do multimedia development in OSX.

* I prototype, test web development, and interact with business clients in Windows.

* I satisfy my open source personality (and learn more about computing) in Linux.

Simple, eh? Not.

Oh come on guys, just goofing around.

I run Windows and Linux on my machines... I'd be running OSX too, but it is quite tricky on the inexpensive hardware I tend to buy, and I haven't got the will to do it (too many other more interesting projects )... I've fired up OSX in a VM a few times, but never had the patience to get it booting... I'd probably even own a Mac if they were a better value for me...
