Does anyone know if Pidgin is officially dead in the water??? It hasn't been updated in quite some time and the current version does not work with Yahoo and crashes on the Facebook plugin. They just updated the Windows version again to address the Yahoo protocol change, but nothing here. A shame, since this appears to be the only IM alternative on the N810

I hope not I just reordered a new tablet. I had an n800 and sold it a while back and now am getting an n810. I sure wish this is not the case as I loved using pidgin before.

i think i spotted some new pidgin packages the other day, could be they are only on extras-devel tho (yes yes, shame on me)...

Yeah, I saw the package in -devel too. Anybody try it?
I won't, until it gets in plain extras.

Works, though you have to update libpurple from xterm.
