I've installed this, but the month button and the week button look like a list, just like the day button. The web page showed a grid view for week and month, does that actually exist?

It works for me.
Make sure that in the Preference settings you got 'use grid for week' and 'use grid for month' selected

Thanks. I don't see those in preferences. I get 5 tabs, Formats that has some strings, Format 2 with more format strins, Google Sync, Working Day (time) and General. None of those have Use grid selections. Do I have an old version or something?

I have 0.4.5. I uninstalled, downloaded from maemo.org downloads and reinstalled. I still ended up with 0.4.5. Did you get yours from somewhere else?

Also, even though I uninstalled, the reinstall shows my old calendar entries. I guess it doesn't uninstall the database?

Someone much more skilled in Linux than me (read: just about anyone) will probably tell you that things like config files, etc doesn't get deleted. It could of course also be that you synced your entries to google calendar and that's how they 're-appear' in mCalendar.

Anyway, for the version: I'm pretty sure I installed it directly from the Applications Manager on the tablet. If you check there, what version do you see?

EDIT: Or I installed it from the link at the bottom of this page: http://khertan.net/software_info.php?soft=mCalendar

I tried both of those, they both want to give me version 4.5.1. Bummer.

That's really weird...I just now checked both in 'About' in mCalendar as well as in the Application Manager and I got version 0.5.9

The only answer I can think of is that the later version is available in a repository that you haven't added to Applications Manager yet.

I have these catalogs:
Nokia Catalog
Nokia Catalog (3rd party software)
Nokia System Software Updates
Maemo Extras
Chinook Extras
Extras-Devel (<-- this MAY be the one...)
Kawseq Consulting
Qole

be careful w/ Extras-Devel. disable it after you've installed the one specific app you're concerned w/.

I went browsing through the Extras-Devel for unstable apps and found the version your using. Next question, can I just install the .deb files directly, rather than the whole catalog? lm2 suggests that catalog can be dangerous. If so, do I install both the areml.deb and the i386.deb or just one of them?

Thanks!
