Also, hitting the Escape key twice, then a number, emulates the corresponding function key (and esc-esc-0 is F10 :-)

I can't remember what dependencies are needed for the program, but you can do what I usually do: run the installer and wait for error messages to come up (if any). I bet that, if any libraries are missing from your system, you can find them on the same site.
