I read through the install instructions and didn't see any reference to running it this way, the ones I saw involved flashing the device. Maybe I missed something?

You must use Mer bootmenu, other bootmenus may seriously harm your Mer installation.

The patches are there now in fanoush initfs_flasher.tgz I think, - I just think pbeasy isn't updated.

Please read http://wiki.maemo.org/Mer/Documentation/Bootmenu - it tells how to get things to co-exist.

1. I just got to the point where I cloned Maemo from the internal flash to my freshly partitioned internal CF. I partitioned into 256MB (vfat), 2 768MB ext3 and the rest (220MB) as swap. Does Mer play nicely on a partition of the internal CF? I read through the install instructions and didn't see any reference to running it this way, the ones I saw involved flashing the device. Maybe I missed something?
2. What is the minimum comfortable space one should use for a Mer install?
3. Will software in the Maemo repos work with Mer?
Thanks,
