Is Kismet available for the N810 anywhere? The link on the Kismet SVN thread is dead. I've never used Kismet before. Is it similiar to Aircrack-ng?

I think Kismet's actually easier cuz it's graphical (as graphical as you can get in a terminal anyway )

You just didn't find the new link(http://qwerty12.qole.org/kismet_2007...ipb1_armel.deb)

That's the one. Yeah, Kismet totally slipped my mind. You also need libpcap which I'm attaching here.
-------

[All from root]
1.
Code:
apt-get install ncurses-base
2. dpkg -i libp[TAB]

3. Install the kismet deb from application manager.

Also, make sure you do all the steps to install aircrack first, cuz you need wireless-tools installed already for this to work.
Attached Files
File Type: deb libpcap0.8_0.9.5-1osso1_armel.deb (85.8 KB, 207 views)

So I don't know how or why but rootsh ended up working after I redownloaded it and I've installed Aircrack-ng, but none of the commands work for it. So I've tried installing Kismet with the links you provided but of course as my luck would have it, the Kismet deb isn't working for me... I was able to use root and then dpkg -i the libpcap file. Kismet can't be installed. It says:

Unable to install Kismet
Application packages missing: ncurses-base
I'm starting to lose hope on pentesting with my N810.

Is there anyway to undo the changes that were made when I used dpkg -i for the libpcap, libnl, and aircrack files?

Hi,

a quicker way to install the files prepared by qwerty:

Open xterm and get root, then copy-paste the following.

Code:
apt-get install wireless-tools
maemo-mini-curl -o aircrack-ng_1.0_rc3-2_armel.deb http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/qwerty12/aircrack-ng_1.0_rc3-2_armel.deb
maemo-mini-curl -o libnl1_1.1-5_armel.deb http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/qwerty12/libnl1_1.1-5_armel.deb
dpkg -i aircrack-ng_1.0_rc3-2_armel.deb libnl1_1.1-5_armel.deb
HIH

Thanks for the info, but it seems like the aircrack-ng version qwerty12 is hosting lacks some of the aircrack-ng commands. Any insight on how to get the whole aircrack-ng suite or kismet to work?

Ah, well where are you now? ie What do you have left to do?

all u need to do to get ncurses-base is
Code:
apt-get install ncurses-base
sorry, forgot about that one.

Yeah, apparently all u really *need* from aircrack-ng is aircrack-ng itself. Normally you would use airmon-ng, but qwerty12 is right, Kismet is just as good, if not better.

Wireless-tools can only be installed thru apt-get if you have the diablo tools repository enabled.

Finally I've got Kismet installed! Thanks for the apt-get install ncurses line! Now I can't figure out how to use Kismet.

Although, I'm not sure if all of the changes I've made to the system has somehow affect my battery life. I've gone through two battery cycles when normally I would only be half way on one. Is there anyway I can undo all of the changes I've made to the system, aside from flashing it? Maybe I'll just stick to using Backtrack on my laptop...

http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploa....1-5_armel.deb

dpkg -i them. Install wireless-tools from Extras.

aircrack-ng does not have a slow loading time anymore.
Hi qwerty12,
Those links are down, wouldn't you have the files still around?
