I'm planning a trip to new york to pick this up from the flagship store, well I'm actually planning a trip with my girlfriend, but I think we can see where my priorities are. I've checked every blog I can think of and I can't see a date when it will be available at the flagship store in ny. Anybody know?

Noone knows. It ranges from Mid Oct to Nov (though I personally am going to be unhappy if its Nov). Best guess is Oct 12th.

This is all info you can get from searching

Yea, October 12 would be perfect, which is why I doubt it's going to be October 12. They would have made an announcement about the official release date by now if it was going to be that soon.

I'd suggest to plan your trip for december. While some sources mention October, others speak of November. December should be a safe bet.

Who knows? A few folks that aren't talking. Supposedly on 09-14 a distributor showed that the N900 would arrive in stores on 09-27 (1). That should mean preorders from Nokiausa would sent out to individuals that week. With that said I wouldn't make travel plans until I hear that a few of those orders have been delivered. Even after that the Nokia store could still sell out. I guess another good sign would be reports of a line forming outside the NYC store. (Maybe someone here walks by there everyday and can report?)

If you want a better idea on the ETA make friends with someone that has access to an account with Brightpoint (IIRC Nokia's US distributor). IMO their ETA dates should be pretty credible. Personally I'd bet that Amazon will offer overnight shipping (about $40) once it's in stock making them IMO pretty much as quick as anyone else.

Waiting in an information vacuum is tough but that's all we really have.

I don't want to be safe, I want to be one of the first! Actually, a buddy of mine is moving to new york on the 11th, so we were going to go with him anyway, I was just hoping that while I was there I could pick up this little beauty...

BOOKED! If it's not available when I get there, I'll just bill you for expenses and you can get reimbursed by your 8-ball.

Thanks Jay!

Hoping these guys are not getting confused between a 'temp' charge and an actual charge. The 'temp' charge is placed just to make sure the card has enough credit for the transaction and could happen well before it intends to ship out
