That's interesting because the phrasing is definately American:

"You all have a nice weekend now, and the N900 will start shipping real soon!"

Specifically this is not European English

I have nothing to do with that phrase, the only thing I did was to provide it, becuase I thought it'd be interesting for the community.

Now, let's bookmark this thread, and come back after 6 months to see if there was some truth about it.

After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!

yes, I knew about the N900 one year ago... and I also know, that there WILL be a "N900 successor", a maemo-device (it doesn't need to have better specs) within the next half year, and this will be with a resistive screen, not capacitive.
But not resistive like you maybe are thinking at the moment...

As I said ealier, take this statement with a grain of salt. Did I ever say that it's true? The only thing I did was to share it, since I thought someone would be interested.

Yes, who knows they maybe have developed multitouch supersensitive resistive that will crush capacitive?

Yeah, who the heck said multi-touch is only possible on capacitive screens!? Steve Jobs perhaps?

Stantum has already finished the development of resistive screens with multi-touch. The only thing Nokia has to do now is to order it, if they consider it being worth the additional price.

Peace
