Ok, first off, Big N900 fan, thats the phone that took that bite out of apple. it beats iphones on the was to real fights. ok so getting that off my chest, 2 concerns that dont affect my decision to buy the n900. (1), google maps app for the n900. is it a yes ? no?..ovi maps suck, i live in Trinidad and Tobago (small islands in the caribbean) and i cant see detailed stuff of my country while on google maps i can see my dog licking his balls on the porch. plus it has a cool feature where i can track other ppls locations in my social network via email address. i would really like that on my n900. (2), portrait mode....whats up with that?....i created an account here just for this thread, i really need to know whats the outcome..N900 RULES!!!

portrait mode is just software.

the ability is open for anyone that is writting software for the unit. so it will most likely be used by developers and updated in a later firmware.....

...if not in the final realease firmware!!! ;?

MaemoMapper is pretty good but....

Google Latitude works pretty perfect with Google Maps!!!

Just download and open up Google Latitude and click on the top for options to open up Google Maps !!!!

You can then search the Map just like you would in the iPhone or Android App !!!

I would say download both Google Latitude AND MaemoMapper and see which one fits you best

#1 - Google Maps and Friends

Google Latitude works pretty perfect with Google Maps!!!

The Google Latitude Apps lets you track your friends location on Google Maps and share your location with Friends!!!

Just download and open up Google Latitude, Sign in with Google and click on the top for options to open up Google Maps !!!!

You can then search and find your friends on the Map just like you would in the iPhone or Android App !!!
