Sounds about like the rumor of the N920. 4.1" screen, no keyboard.

Take a look Roger.
I wrote that, so I don't need to take a look. I referenced my source for the information about USB host.

The original source of the information about USB host seems to be from a garbled Google Translation of an HTC press release as reported by Heise in Germany. Hardly "straight from the horse's mouth".

I'm wondering now whether the USB host socket might be on the charger/stand rather than on the device. You could use the stand at home with a USB keyboard plugged in, and the HD2 horizontally on the charger/stand, and it would be like a mini desktop computer. Very cool.

Regards,
Roger

Looks like both of these will be out on o2 on the 16th November. Hopfully will be able to play with them both and make my mind up then. People slag wimo off but there really is loads of free great stuff for it!

I competely agree about that WinMo is way better than what people say about it. But considering what they say about it, no matter how many times better it is in the reality, it'll still be worse than the Maemoistic competition.

I would not bother to give WinMo 6.5 a chance (as long as an upgrade to WinMo 7 would be possible).

What makes me tend to the N900 is what I've been able to see in videos comparing the browser experience between those two and/or other devices. Despite the huge 4.3 screen I was not at all convinced with the "look" of the browser windows on the HD2. Not because of the 65k color limitation (which should not matter as much as some seem to think) but because of what it makes out of this size. Especially in a comparison with the iPhone the latter shows a much more attractive view onto websites despite its inferior resolution. The HD2 maybe a little bit faster, but the pages are not presented as they should. It seems, as if one will have to move around a lot on the screen to get into the right position to see all of window one would want. Still impressed by the iPhone on this behalf and the N900 seems to be identically good... The HD2s behaviour might be different using another browser, but who knows for sure yet...

And if the big screen on the HD2 does not turn out as an advantage the N900 beats the HTC by far imho.

Thats where the n900 scores with the browser. I do like that HD2 knows if its in a pocket and rings louder, or if you pick it up when it rings the volume drops. Also if you dont want to talk just place the phone face down and it will end the call. The screen is a scratch proof glass as well. HMMMmmm what to do. Opera 10 will be out for winmo soon and flash 10 as well.
