I've ordered the T-mobile contract with MPD and am patiently (well, actually not so patiently) waiting for the device to come through. This is the first time I've ordered a contract online in the UK so not sure exactly how it works. I understand they will charge me the £3.99 for delivery when the device is ready to ship, but what exactly happens about the monthly £35 charge to T-mobile? When exactly is that debited from my account? Immediately or later?

Do exactly what I am going to do: I am currently on T-Mobile's Solo 20 SIM-only plan, so once I get N900 with new T-M contract in my hands, I'll port my current number to Vodafone's pay-as-you-go service and once that's done, then port it back to T-M contract that came with N900. I reckon the whole operation shouldn't take longer than few days, maybe a week.

That would only work if I could get the N900 on my current t-mobile plan. I'm currently on flex-40 and flex contracts aren't being given out by Nokia Flagship. I don't know if MPD will have Flex contracts as I haven't asked.

I reckon that you can always upgrade your plan to higher, once you get a contract. So place an order for Combi25/30, then upgrade to Flex40. However, if I were you, I'd call 150 first and specifically ask whether that's possible (they might offer Flext plans to new customers only, or sth).

I don't know if any of you have mentioned this yet as I don't keep up with the thread, but I went in to Regent St last night to ask about contracts and the N900 and I received some bad news. I won't be able to upgrade my current T-mobile contract as the Nokia store is only able to give new t-mobile contracts and none of these are what I'm on. Lame.
But with Vodafone, the Nokia store does both upgrades and new contracts.
Now I don't know what to do. My contract with T-mobile has already run out and I was waiting for this phone so I could upgrade. I want to stay with t-mobile but I don't want to wait for another couple of months until the N900 reaches the t-mobile store.
