I had a Credit card email to, All u need to do is ring your Card provider and confirm that you have place an order through Nokia and they will authorise the transaction, then Ring Nokia tomorrow(Cos they shut at stupid times) and tell them to resubmit the order, and hopefully they will ship the phone tomorrow :-)

I ordered with the magic 30% discount (re-order over the phone) and have yet to receive a cancellation email. From what I can tell, no money has gone out of my account either.

If my order is cancelled then I'm done, I'll stick with the Pandora and wing it for a year on whatever phone comes my way.

I had preordered with two 15% discounts. Natwest called me earlier to authorise the transaction which I obviously did and I have not received any cancellation email from Nokia.

Why isn't it possible for us now?
I was one of those people. Nokia Shop called me to tell me they were going to cancel my order, but they would recreate it with a new product code and the same discounts (calculated slightly differently - actually better), and I'd keep my place in the queue.

But now they've written to tell me my order is cancelled because my credit card has refused the transaction. What's the point in placing pre-orders if they don't work? Of course I have plenty of credit, it's undoubtedly been declined by the increasingly unhelpful "fraud prevention department". Thanks guys, your "help" cost me 170 quid.

I agree, it's most unfair if Nokia don't honour their agreed discounts due to credit card declinations most likely due to some pattern of behaviour from Nokia itself. It makes a mockery of their claim to sell the phone at an agreed price, and it makes a mockery of their promise to sell at the lowest price between when you ordered and when it ships.

I suppose I could re-order with the 10% quidco/tcb cashback sites... it's just nowhere near as low as my original. *sigh*
Frankly I wouldn't expect Nokia to honour the cashback, based on sheer operational incompetence if nothing else.

Nope. My order is fine - sorry to burst your bubble though, mate

Just got back from work. Are they taking a p155?

This sort of cr@p shouldn't be sent out in the first place!
I don't need to know if it's in stock and I don't need to know you're processing it.

All I need is the d4mn dispatch email with tracking number!

P.S
On a good side, my real-time credit card balance shows money has been taken out xD
I wouldn't expect to get it tomorrow, but who knows. Could be a knock on the door tomorrow with a black box.
They did mention the dispatch email will be sent out the next working day after dispatch.

One possible reason that people are being knocked back, is 'coz they are using credit cards, instead of debit cards. I have a credit card but it has a 250 quid limit, so I had to use my debit card.

When you use a credit card the credit card company takes the risk, when you use a debit card, you take the risk. Usually when you use a debit card the money goes from your account immediately, the fact Nokia waited till they had stock before taking my money, impresses me. I just hope the '900 impresses me.

Or walk away, obviously.

I'm much less excited to buy one now that I feel ripped off. Perhaps I don't need it after all.

There is nothing, nothing wrong with my credit card. If it's been declined it's due the the credit card pre-auth being held by Nokia for such a ridiculously long time (~5 weeks). (Not that I have any sympathy with the card company - a few years ago, the card company would have called me to question any unusual transaction, not just declined it. And this amount isn't unusual for me.) I would have been happy for them to take the money when ordered, but no, they do this and, from what others are saying, dishonour their agreed price.

I wonder if there is a correlation between those who ordered when it was offered on discount, and those whose orders are now getting cancelled...
To the people who have had their credits cards rejected, did you use a different delivery address to your credit card billing address? I ordered using triple discount code and everything seems fine so far, money has been taken from my credit card and I received the email.

Yeah, it's starting to sound like pretty much everyone who used any sort of discount code (while they were valid too mind-you) are getting cancellations left right and centre.

I might try and argue that point over the phone again in the morning, but I'm guessing they won't have any of it because when I spoke to them earlier, they were straight up definitive about it (as with everyone else).

But I still do really want the phone, and stupidly still willing to concede the £180 difference.

I believe those who tried to sneek in the 30% are having the orders cancelled.
Those who have cancelled orders/card decline, can you confirm your order contains 30% discount?

Mine was only 15%, went through fine without a problem, using HSBC.
Natwest is just a b1tch sometime, but they did stop a fraudlent transaction for me once, they sent a text saying there was a suspecious transaction, told me to call them to confirm. I said I didn't authorised it, they did a full refund and sent me a new card.
