So is this something a new subscriber can get/do? I plan on getting the n900 but dont have it yet, so how could I go about getting this? If I understand correctly this is just a 9.99 plan and nothing else? No voice? (Wouldnt need that due to skype)

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem with T-mobile. I bought my n900 a couple of weeks ago and initially used it on AT&T. Everything worked fine (including A-GPS), but of course I was limited to EDGE speeds. So I switched to Tmobile and I'm on a voice plan with the $10 unlimited web. I'm using the internet2.voicestream.com APN and web surfing etc works fine. However, I cannot get network positioning to work. I still have the standard supl.nokia.com location server. So ever since the switch to Tmobile, it has not worked.

Is it possible they have some port blocking access to network positioning? Does anyone else have this problem?

I have tried all the other APN's but I cannot get any network connectivity with them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, I'm on t-mobile with the smartphone plan ($24.99) and it network positioning isn't working for me either (never worked).

So I don't know what's up.

Standing in an open field in Central Park with full signal takes over 10 minutes to acquire a lock from cold start.

I noticed the next day after switching to T-mobile that my gps couldn't get a fix. So today I played with it for a while trying to do all I can to get it to work. I turned off the gps and just left network positioning on and it won't get a position. I haven't tried for too long to get a proper gps fix, but assume the problem is with the a-gps since prior to the switch it would come up in seconds.

If I put a call into tmobile support are they gonna question whether I should be on the $25 vs the $10 plan? Is it possible to have a 'dumbphone' with gps? Interesting that it's not working for people on either plan. Anyone actually have it working?

i do have it working but i never used att sim i can have maps running just with network position and it get a fix with few seconds i have unlimited web for dumbphones for 9.99 internet2.voicestream.com

if you go settings, under internet connections, you will get a pop up window, on the right side you have connections, highlight tmobile internet or whatever your connection is named for tmobile, click edit what i have is connection name and type gprs, then when i go next i got access point name internet2.voicestream.com and everything else is blank then you go next, and you have advanced click on it, proxy should not be check and ip should have auto retrieve check, and auto dns check i hope this helps .

Thanks amorek, I have the same settings as you have described. Could you please check your location server? I'm assuming it's supl.nokia.com.
