I have read a lot of threads telling people how to become root. Do I need to return previous status (user?) after becoming root? If yes, how to do?

Sorry to ask such stupid question

Well, BigBoss.....I just type 'exit' at the command prompt and voila!

Thanks for the info. I've been typing "su user", which seems to work, but this is simpler. BigBoss, the question doesn't seem stupid to me, at least.
