This has been debunked several times before. I never owned Apple products (except for a BT keyboard) because I don't stand for their philosophy. On the other hand I admire them where they ended up being in 2 years, practically leapfrogging every incumbent in the smartphone scene. There is a lot to learn from them.

Though that is not much of a bold claim as the iPhone has seriously deficient camera quality compared to a LOT of phones, phones which I would still consider poor in their own right.

Are you sure you half-press to get focus before pressing down fully?

Yeah, I use the $200 aiptek HD digital recorder I got a few years ago to capture 780p 60fps mp4 video.

And I'm not at all mad that my PHONE/TABLET device with integrated cheap 5mp camera running the initial release of the firmware can't replace it. I'm not even a little surprised that it can't.

It does shoot decent Qik video live streamed to the web, something my HD digital recorder can't do.

You know, I think one of the points against you is that many of your posts seem to not be very specific. For example, this reply would have been vastly improved by listing one or more of these "at least 5" phones. If more of your posts seemed to be the result of at least 5 minutes of effort I think the response would be much better. As it is now, it seems like you just use 30 seconds to post whatever is on your mind, which just adds up to noise in many peoples eyes.

If you have never owned an apple product, then why would you claim the N900 community is NOTHING compared to iPhone's in your other topic?
You just like spending hours reading forums don't you.

Well, moderators may think that you do not deserve a warning or ban, yet but thanks to this forum there is an ignore button.

Happy holidays!

If the N900 is downright 'ridiculous', your standards are simply too high for ANY phone cam. Sorry.

I suspect that this is the result of trying to achieve a higher megapixel number, quality be damned! There is simply to little light for the individual cells of the sensor to overpower the background noise.
Tell that to Canon. They are cramming 10-12 megapixels in a similarly sized sensor in their new P&S-es. Can we please get over this 'if megapixel count had been...' thing ?
