I was wondering how people are reacting about the N900 physique. The matte black finish, the blue around the camera lens cover (like the N97), as compared to the silver N810 and N800.

Aside from the size.

I like the design. It's just a bit too thick

I think the chrome bezel around the camera is.. a less than effective choice.

The rest of it is perfect though. I love the feel of the sliding mechanism and the general materials used.

From the pics it looked as neutral as it can, but i'm actually now after owning the device for 3 weeks liking the looks. Thought the back could look better especially around the camera(example N86 looks much better there), but build quality has been great.
I would love to see E series materials and design with some Maemo love someday. Just waiting for that E950

Nokia nailed it with the E Series design and quality, hopefully they do that with the N series too.

I love the build quality of the N900 and I do understand why they stayed away from metal and such since it is a pretty heavy device as is.

My only thing is when you look at the device with the screen off on a table or a desk it looks like a "black brick" with finger prints all over it.

I will say that really looks come in last for me, couple of years ago I changed my 7650 to 3650 and that was a huge looks sacrifice all done for the sake of functionality but I wouldn't mind having it all like the 6600 back then

Played with 810 and N97 in the last days, N900 is definitely the best designed piece.

I`m liking pretty much everything about it, the only thing I would change is the back cover and give it the same coating as the N95 back cover had for more grip. That`s easily done NOKIA, I will be happy to buy a replacement cover when you release it NOKIA!

I'd prefer the lens cover to be the same as for the n95. The current one is just to easy to open.

HAve you seen the E61? The case is extremely light - at least as light as plastic as a Magnesium Alloy I believe, just dam expensive!
