It's either or bug or you're doing something wrong :-)

Given the simplicity of the UI in Hermes, and the simplicity of Contacts, I assume it's a bug somewhere.

Can you share some more info, possibly running /opt/hermes/bin/hermes in X Terminal and posting the output?

This sounds very similar to the issue at http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=444775

What's your timezone? Perhaps it's a Calendar bug...

I couldn't figure out why some of my contacts were not being updated, the names were correct! It took me a while to figure out that when I imported the contacts from my old phone it added a space after the first name for every contact, which obviously couldn't be seen. After removing this space Hermes updated them all perfectly (except one, which for some reason although recognised by Hermes, the picture won't update). Perhaps Hermes should automatically trim the before and after spaces on the names prior to matching?

Hey, great program, thanks so much for making it. Just a small suggestion. You should have an "About" option when you click on the Hermes name at the top of the screen (right now it just has "Accounts").

This would include the name of the program, the version # (the most useful part so people can keep track of the version), the website, and any other info you would like to add.

Good idea. I've added this to #7352 where this work can be tracked.

jaffa GMT -4:30 time zone is Caracas, Venezuela.

im sure when i first updated the information with hermes the dates where correct, then i realized i imported everyones from my facebook with a birthday, so i just deleted everything from my contact list synced the contact list with my N82 as i first did, the used hermes again and then all the contacts have the perfect birthday date, but they appear one day earlier in the calendar.

and hermes was the first app i installed in my phone

ok something weird i noticed the calendar widget show the correct birthday date while the calendar still shows one day earlier

one of my friends birthday is jan 6, the widget show it as incoming event jan 6 and the calendar shows it as jan 5

This is definitely not a Hermes problem. Can you export an appropriate contact's vCard and raise a bug against Calendar at bugs.maemo.org?
