Seems to be just a random rant about a useless feature, MMS, and he doesn't quote any sources, just mentions he's had a "verbal comment from Nokia" which could be a clueless CS guy/girl, making stuff up to calm him down as he's clearly quite upset by the lack of MMS - maybe he should have done his research before buying.

I have no desire for MMS... in fact, I can say I sent less than 10 MMS ever since I own mobile phones. I learned LONG time ago that the N900 will not contain MMS but I went ahead a purchased it anyway because the lack of it is not an issue for me...

I did read 3 articles there and what i understood ranting is the idea of the site(hint the name ), but didn't find any indication that the site has any kind of insider info about these things so i really give it a zero reliability there.
This insider info seems more like a way to get one rant article about the lack of MMS support which is fine... and maybe get more readers. Where they did a good job

good job indeed. 2 pages on maemo.org within 30 minutes.

i guess it does go to show just how much a fw release is expected/anticipated.

Remember that the vast majority of phone users out there don't have an e-mail capable phone that they have been able to successfully connect to an email account. MMS is far from "a useless feature" quite yet.

Alas, why I'll likely never recommend the N900 to my friends

Non-nerd apps; USB charging - generic and reliable; Distinctive ring tones; GPS failure to lock; Competitive "maps" application; Supported MMS, iSync, Bluetooth

(The feeble FM transmitter bugs me too)

After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!

erm, anyone else notice how poorly written that piece is?
I also agree that nothing else points to him actually knowing factual information. - bit like the pre-emptive "When will we get our N900 Threads" (You never know it could be nuknuk in disguise!)

Oh i love the randomness of nokia though

The person on Twitter using MMS is Frals, and it's nothing to do with firmware. He's been working on scrpts to make it possible and will let us all know when he's a bit more confident with it. As for the article, I suspect one or two folks from round here.
