Quim? Shocked at you for not reading what the problem is - i should send you to the search pages like everyone else! (Added muhahaha somewhere after that phrase)....

I don't think there is a huge problem, but more added assistance needed. having the extra mod's and movers working is a good idea

Also, would love to see alot more thread renaming - seen some recently - but the thread title is key for me when hunting things

Please respond to the request by the current moderators of brainstorm to add me and Chemist to that list. There's a lot of cleanup yet to do!

i think this forum would benefit from a sticky in each section with (strict) rules regarding what you can talk about in said section. that would also greatly assist moderating, since you would have some written rules to motivate your moderating actions (moving threads, removing posts or whatever ir is one can do as a moderator.

Naturally general, ot and competitors would have rather loose rules compared to the more specific threads, but written rules are very nice to have.

Regarding who gets to moderate, I'd say the council, who are infact elected by the community, should have the power to select moderators, from those willing. (I might not be uptodate on how the process of council works, but it feels like a democracy).

I will, again, throw my hat in the ring for Multimedia, although I didn't meet all the required criteria. If there is a better suited candidate I will gladly defer to their expertise.

Regards,

Thor

I simply meant the problem for not approving new moderators. That's all and is now fixed.

About sticky posts, just create a new thread with a sticky draft for a specific forum needing it and we will help you tuning it.

Via "Report This" and private messages, pelago has demonstrated a strong interest in merging and moving threads to prevent fragmentation of discussion. Should he be willing, I'd support his promotion to moderator.

Also, I feel RevdKathy would make an excellent moderator, should she be willing.

I agree. And i realize now that being mod of just N900 or just Maemo 5 is somewhat limiting because of the crosstalk there, so getting someone mod privileges in both who can merge threads between them would be great.
