The NSU also got locked up for me showing "estimated time: 1 second".
After one hour of waiting I unplugged the phone, recharged for 30 minutes and then reflashed it with the separate flash software following the instructions given in this topic. Now everything works fine!

Where are you stuck? at which step? you should leave the "u" key once you see the usb symbol after connecting it.

It takes a few minutes to reflash, but it should show you the progress on the computer. Have you managed to use flasher-3.5 as I said?

It didn't show a progress on the computer. there was a brief 1 sec faint window of cmd when I hit enter for 1 sec then it's gone. I use the US version flash. Is there a difference?

All i'm seeing when I press the "u" key was a faint nokia (not totally lit up like the above pic)

I'm charging the battery right now. Does it usually vibrates and status light stay on for couple of seconds and the usb icon then disappear.

I just did again same thing happen when I enter the file and prompt me to allow. I clicked allow and just saw a flash of cmd window for like 1 sec and disappear. No status of flashing.

You're not supposed to run flasher.exe from the file browser, you're supposed to go to start->all programs->maemo->flasher, then you'll see a cmd window. From there you're supposed to type in "flasher-3.5.exe...". Are you doing that?

Gone to worst now it wouldn't detect the usb. When I press the "u" key and plug the usb screen is blank and the status light lit up a steady yellow/orange light then it will vibrate, then later nokia background appears, status light then goes off. It will do again the same thing.

FWIW . . . i got stuck on that "1 second left" in NSU as well, after waiting an hour i unplugged the USB cable, took battery out, put battery back in, plugged USB cable back in, and NSU continued, and now i have the latest FW

How do I reflash?
Ran into the same exact thing...update stuck on 'Estimated time left: 1 second' for the last hour with battery fully charged. Hoping this isn't (and it doesn't seem to be) a widespread issue. Will try reflashing...

Try taking the battery out and putting it again and again try holding 'u' and connecting, if not try charging the battery for an hour and try again. If you still can't do it then you'll have to send the device to nokia.
