Hi,

Am not sure if this is the right place to post this query.

I have got a new N900 device and it boots and stops at the screen stating

"This device has the following settings"
language region time and date

and at this point when I tap the device it does not respond, neither responds to any key events. What could be the reason.

Has anyone faced any such issue before.

This is not normal. If you're sure that it doesn't respond you should send it back to Nokia.

Yes I am quiet sure, I have tried it many a times now. The device boots properly, shows the welcome screen, then it shows this screen

"This device has the following settings"

"Language - Region - Time - Date"
Save

None of the above controls accept any input. Its difficult to believe that there could be a HW issue. Could it be a sw issue with that particular screen. Is there any way I can reset it to factory default, although it is having default settings as I have never got across that screen.

It sounds like a faulty touch screen to me (although I haven't heard of this issue before). Probably best to return it and get another one.

If you believe that it's software update (Which I doubt it is,) you could try flashing the phone.

Tried the software update. Didn't work and hence have decided to get it replaced.
