Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say that so far, I've had absolutely no problems with my N900! Obviously a lot of people come on here to seek help for problems they've encountered which is great, but there's not huge amounts praising everything that's happened with the N900 so far.

Just for the record, I've downloaded MANY apps from extras-testing and devel, I've done both OTA firmware updates... and well, everything has been fine! I've even been giving myself a crash course in linux from the xterminal... Haven't bricked it so far... (famous last words).

I'm just posting this because I wanted to see if others are in a similar situation?!

Hi stayloa. Got no problems with my N900 yet too! I've never needed to reflash it, it has never rebooted by itself (ok actually just once one month ago and never again, so it is approximately NEVER), it has never had non-working apps installed so far, all seems working great. I've installed about 15 apps from extras-testing and devel, I've freed up my rootfs reinstalling the optified version of python (I had about 90% filled up rootfs, but now just 80%) and I've been able to update my firmware OTA without any problem.
I've used X-Term for modifying boot video, leds' colours, for installing some extra apps from .deb files (e.g. 7zip and ScummVM) and for using apt-get/cache commands for searching/downloading applications easily without app manager.
Until now the only and major problem for me is that after every boot it switches back to the default theme if I try to use some of the OVI themes, so I feel lucky.

Mine's great too, battery performance using Wifi is much improved. Lots of apps installed, the only minor issue is the calendar widget not showing upcomng events - but I can live with that.

My N900 was bricked after installing the latest patch, so no, it's not fine from my perspective

Downloaded from an italian unofficial Nokia forum (don't know if I should post a link). No, I use it from X-Term, it works great, can easily handle .rar, .zip, .tar, .7z and many others. Only one bad thing: not optified, takes about 3MB in rootfs but for me it is acceptable.

I had to gone through some pain to get this damm thing install. First of all, it WON'T let me update via OTA. So i had to rely on PC connect via USB to update and i have no idea how this work.

Was wondering why they heck it won't let me update via OTA. End it up deleting a bunch of apps..in fact almost all of them and thought it'll let me do OTA update then. Nope...still no go...i had to update via PC. Damm i can't believe it was that easy to update with the PC...but the bad part is i already delete most of my apps. I then have to reinstall all of them back. It was no fun and i got everything working again. So far, i don't really notice any difference!! Seriously, maybe the browser is a bit faster but that's about it. Anyway, that's my initial impression of the update.

I have owned the device over 4 weeks so it's from the first patch and only thing i have had has been crashed browser 2 times.

It just makes me wonder how many here has been playing with deb files, red pill mode and extra-dev when they shouldn't. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying that all who are having probs are guilty for it.
